Introduction

Carbide wire drawing dies are utilized to stretch metal wires and optical fibers. There is a regularly shaped aperture at the centre of tungsten carbide. Shape of apertures may be round, square, rectangle, octagon, and so on. When metal wires are pulled through cemented drawing dies, their volumes remain the same, while diameters decrease. So, the large-diameter wires are stretched into small-diameter and longer wires. Besides, they can be molded into certain shapes according to shapes of apertures. There are several important structures in carbide wire drawing dies: entrance area, lubrication area, working area, sizing area, exit area and exit cone angle.

Applications

Tungsten carbide dies are widely used in various fields. They are commonly used to produce highly precise wire elements in electron devices, radars, television sets, gauges, and so on. Carbide wire drawing dies are applied to stretching tungsten filaments, molybdenum filaments, stainless steel wires, electric wires, alloy wires, etc. With rare microcrystal carbides as materials, drawing dies feature strong abrasive resistance and long working life.

Advantages

1. Carbide wire drawing dies manufactured by us are mainly designed for stretching both ferrous metal wires and non-ferrous metal wires.
2. Tungsten carbide dies are made from micro-crystalline rare refractory metal carbide, high-purity cobalt powder and other metal powder used as binder.
3. They are manufactured through special methods and advanced low-pressure sintering technology, which maintains performance advantages of tungsten carbide and increases other beneficial performance by 1/4.
4. Cobalt powders (or other special metal powders) endow carbide wire drawing dies with high toughness.

Features

1. Entrance area is precisely polished. So it is convenient to pull metal into apertures.
2. Lubrication area is highly polished, which is conducive to lubricate wire materials.
3. Working area is in linear type. It reduces friction during stretching wires and lessens die wears. Besides, tungsten carbide dies are reasonable in design and stable in working process because linear type of working area makes stretching more smooth.
4. Sizing area of carbide wire drawing dies is also in linear type, which can keep high diameter accuracy and high finishing degree.
5. Exit area makes wire drawing smooth.
6. Exit cone angle protects quality of stretched wires.

Notes before Usage

1. Choose suitable cemented drawing dies, or the drawing dies may crack.
2. Carbide wire drawing dies should be properly tightened along the stretching direction so that uneven wear is prevented.
3. Regularly lubricate tungsten carbide dies with right lubrication oil.
4. Keep them in clean workplaces.
5. They should not be knocked or cast casually.
